How to Check Compatibility
This is an important step to confirm that your existing finned tube element will fit our hydronic baseboard cover.
-
Step 1:
Measure Height from the Floor
Remove end caps and front panel. Measure from the floor to the top of existing back plate. Measurements 7-1/2"- 8-3/4" require standard height styles. Measurements 9" - 10" require Premium Tall. Note: Standard height endcaps are 7-1/2" tall. Premium Tall endcaps are 9-1/2" tall. Measurements less than 7-1/2" or between 9" - 9-1/4" require wall brackets for installation. Wall brackets will raise the overall installation height by 1-1/4". -
Step 2:
Measure Height of Heater Unit
Measure from the bottom of finned heating element to the top of existing back plate. This measurement is typically 5" - 6-3/4" with standard installations. With a 7-1/2" overall installation height, there will be a 3/4" space between the floor and bottom of the replacement cover. The space between the floor and bottom of the heating element must be a minimum 3/4" to keep the fins from showing beneath the replacement cover. -
Step 3:
Measure Depth
Measure from the wall out to the front of finned heating element. Measurements deeper than 3" require the new cover to be installed using a piece of wood moulding, along with our wall brackets, to accommodate the heater depth. Max inside depth of Baseboardersā¢ panels is 3 inches.
How to Measure Panel Length
Measure each length you need. Every time your heater turns, take a new measurement. See configuration measurement instructions next.

Measuring Notes
Here are a few tips and tricks to help your measuring come off without a hitch.
Measuring Without a Back Plate
Standard straight lengths are measured from one end of the back plate to the other. If a straight section is missing the back plate, measure from one extreme end of desired coverage to the other extreme end of coverage. Then subtract 1ā³.
Lengths Longer than 7'
Baseboard heaters longer than 7ā² (6ā² for Basic series) will require the use of multiple panels and couplers to achieve full length. We recommend that you split the length evenly between multiple panels.
For instance, an 8ā² length requires two 4ā² panels and a coupler. A 15ā² length requires three 5ā² panels and two couplers. A length of 9ā²-7ā³ requires one 5ā² panel and one 5ā² panel CUSTOM CUT to 55ā³, or two 5ā panels both cut to 57-Ā½ā for a balanced look. We will custom cut down to your specifications at no charge.
When You Need to Cover a Couple of Extra Inches
BaseboardersĀ® are designed to yield an incredible amount of flexibility. Each endcap can be slid out up to 1-Ā¾ā to cover extra space beyond the regular length of the panel on a typical straight heater.
